
ZHealth Publishing adds new e-commerce capabilities to include online subscriptions
The Business Challenge:
Develop a new ZHealth Publishing web site that has significantly enhanced
back- end e-commerce capabilities for handling the growing Dr Z Forum Question & Answer
database, managing online pay subscriptions, and selling other products and
services online.
Client Profile:
Based in Nashville, TN, ZHealth Publishing specializes in interventional
radiology and cardiology coding publications, seminars, online coding resources,
and coding consulting services. The company has made the Music City Future
50 list (of top growth firms in Middle TN) for 3 years in a row.
The Answer:
XMi Technology partnered with NoSpin Marketing and
another IT development company to re-design the site and develop more automated
processes to handle the incoming Dr Z Forum coding questions and answers,
present more coding information online, and
The Results:
In 2003 XMi Technology and NoSpin Marketing, developed the initial ZHealth
information commerce/e-commerce web site for creating ZHealth prospects and
direct online sales for ZHealth’s publications and conference registrations.
Coupled with aggressive search engine and email marketing, the original site
grew to generate over 7000 visits a month and 150-200 “ZHealth Online” prospects
a month (who signed up with for it free ZHealth Online coding membership which
enabled members to ask coding questions online, access answers, receive biweekly
email newsletters, etc). Over a two year period, ZHealth online sales of publications
and conference registrations grew dramatically. Online “free” memberships
increased to over 2500 members, and ZHealth decided that in order to defray
increasing online costs and provide more coding resources to “members” that
it would move to a pay subscription model. Already the new ZHealth Publishing
site (July 2005) is generating substantial “pay” members—as
a new revenue source—as well as sales of books and conference registrations.
