XMi Technology names Michael Galo President

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Nashville, TN - May 3, 2006 –

Nashville, Tenn. – Michael Galo of Nashville has been named president of XMi Technology, a Nashville-based information technology and business consulting services firm.

XMi Technology provides improvements in business decision making through better information technology solutions to small to mid-sized businesses in the Middle Tennessee Region. Its professional services portfolio includes business process and technology consulting, technical support outsourcing solutions, network infrastructure design and implementation, and Web application development for the enterprise.

Galo, previously director of IT Services, is replacing Greg Flanagan, who has served as president since XMi acquired InfoAdvantage, Inc. in 2005. Flanagan is stepping down to pursue other opportunities in health care information technology.

In his new role, Galo will be responsible for strategic planning, operations management, business development as well as providing clients with business process engineering and information technology integration consulting. He has over 20 years of information technology and business management experience in a variety of industries.

“During his tenure with XMi, Michael has demonstrated that his business management experience and well-rounded technical knowledge are invaluable to the many entrepreneurial organizations we serve,” said Michael Shmerling, CEO of XMi, the parent company of XMi Technology. “His leadership has brought together a talented technology team whose performance has taken XMi Technology to a new level of business success.”

“As a professional services firm, XMi Technology solves business problems through cost effective solutions that mitigate the inherent risks of implementing new technology,” said Galo. “We apply our knowledge and experience in business technology integration so our clients are free to turn their  full attention to their core business.”

Galo comes to XMi Technology from NorthPoint Software & Services, an asset-based business consulting firm where he served as regional vice president responsible for business development and territory expansion. His previous experience includes serving as: managing consultant and owner of The Consultant Workshop, providing business process consulting and executive coaching to clients in the information technology industry; vice president of technical services for NexTime (Kronos); IT engagement director of Inacom for four years; and senior consulting engineer for Apple Computer for eight years.

Galo holds a master’s degree in business administration from Belmont University and a bachelor’s degree in computer science and business administration from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Within the Nashville community, Galo serves on the board of directors and as past president of Youth Encouragement Services, a non-profit organization that has provided tutoring and mentoring for Nashville’s at-risk, inner city youth over the past 50 years.

Since 1993, XMi Technology has provided information technology and business consulting services to more than 400 companies in Middle Tennessee and throughout the Southeast as well as has completed over 250 client engagements over the past three years.
